: the style of Blake's works is full of the image of "mystery", like "the Lamb" or "the Tiger", so cmoparing to other Romantic poets mostly his poems are difficult to understand.
: "The Marriage of Heaven and Mell" can be seen as a declaration of the primary Romanticism. In the poem, the author strongly relieve a wide abandon: "the road of excess loads to the palace of wisdon." The "excess " is the main concept of his view different from the conservative idea of eighteen century. For anther example, "Enough!or too much", he urged "enough" as every person's proper portion; "too much" is better than too little. In addition, Blake also encourged that being true to the passions and to the self; not the rule of the society . To sum up, through the poem Blake awoke human beings so that they may fully realize their individuality and humanity, and value of self-expression, sensual awarness, and expreiential freedon.

: : William Blake sought to explore the dialectical relationship between innocence and experience. Although the significance of innocence was among the poets' major concern in Romanticism, it needed confronting with, and then combining with the opposing element, say, experience to make a preogressive movement. The organized innocence was the ideal integration, in which the disadvantages of both innocence and experience were believed to be negleted. "The Marriage of Heaven and Hell" was in some way the reflection of such a combination. Blake used this poem to invoke the dialectic spirit.
